Having unwanted species of snails inhabiting your tank can be unsightly as well and also cause unwanted changes in your water parameters. The top of the trap is removable so you can place bait (fish food, veggies, etc) in the middle chamber to lure unwanted snails. Once the snails are in the tray and feeding on the bait, you can easily remove the trap from the water with the included string and safely remove the snails. Simply drop the trap back in the water and collect more snails.
