Rabbit Snail Care Sheet
Rabbit Snail (Tylomelania sp)
Rabbit Snails are quickly becoming a popular aquarium snail because of their unique looks and features. They come in a variety of colors, including Black, Gold and Spotted Variations. Named for their elongated face that resembles a rabbit. Rabbit Snails are found exclusively in Lake Matano in Sulawesi, Indonesia.
They are slow moving snails, that sometimes will burrow themselves in substrate. Rabbit Snails grow up to 3 inches in size and they reproduce very slowly, so there is no need to worry about population explosions. In the right conditions they will lay 1-3 eggs, in milky egg sacs. Rabbit Snails are scavengers and will sometimes consume Live Plants, though it seems they are picky on which kinds they will eat.
