Kuhlii Loaches are bottom scavenging fish that make a great addition to your clean up crew. They have long, slender bodies and can grow up to 4 1/2 inches in length. They require lots of hiding spaces including caves, plants, driftwood and rock formation. Lack of hiding places will cause these fish to lay on their side, seemingly sick, but this is a common behavior when they are unable to hide.
Though these are scavenging fish, they still may need to be fed if there is not enough food for them in their environment. They will eat freeze dried foods as well as frozen brine shrimp and blood worms. Some may eat fish flakes in pellets, but it may take time to transition them to these foods.
