Goldfish are one of the most popular pet fish to own. They are hardy, colorful, large and full of personality. They can tolerate cooler temperatures than most tropical fish and can be kept in large groups. There are multiple different color variations and species of Goldfish with a wide variety of varying characteristics. Many people will use Goldfish along with Koi in their ponds, but they can happily live in your home aquarium! 

Goldfish are known to redecorate by moving around gravel and decor. They can also easily injure themselves on sharper objects, its important to inspect you aquarium for decorations that have any potentially sharp edges. Goldfish will perform mating rituals when they are ready to breed and can lay up to 1,000 eggs that hatch in 4-5 days. 

Goldfish are omnivores and can consume a variety of things including frozen foods, plant materials, flakes and pellets. It is recommended to feed small amounts multiple times per day. When feeding flakes or pellets, only feed what can be consumed in 2 minutes.
